Remedios Ignacio-Rikken: Philippines; Very much respected for the many things she did for Filipino women -- pioneering what is now known as gender mainstreaming in the Philippines, spearheading the creation of the first ever Philippine plan for women (Philippine Development Plan for Women 1987-1991)and setting directions towards making both government and civil society work for gender equality and women's empowerment, Remmy is fondly called by her peers as the premiere Babaylan of the Philippines.
